Jan 14: The tale of the Candle Factory

Saturdays at my job are always busy, and instead of my normal 2pm to 9:30 pm hours, I have to work 9:30-6pm, and actually be on site by 9:00 AM. No big deal, other than I'm usually getting home from work around 10PM, AND having to get up, check out my hotel and then scurry to work by 9AM...

This morning I was incredibly efficient, and was out the door by 8:15, leaving myself a whopping 45 minutes to get a cup of coffee and still have some time to do a little shooting before work!

This week at work I've been at one church all week long, (this isn't always the case)... so by the time Saturday rolled around, I was pretty used to the commute from the hotel, and I'd been eyeing some buildings off of my usual route. I took a bit of time today and got this image of what turns out to be a candle factory, and the mostly derelict building adjacent to it.

Funny thing, I had a sitting today with a couple,  He was a former serious photographer, and  I mentioned to him that I am doing my 366 project, and that I had shot over near the Point of Honor plantation house. He perked right up at that point, said 'that's where we live, and my wife has her candle factory just down the hill from the plantation house.

I grabbed my Nikon, clicked it on and asked, "Oh, does it look anything like this?"
It sure did, and they were both tickled that I had photographed the building.

The Candle Factory

Hope it came through post production well, enjoy!
